Kurt first felt called to missions during a short-term mission trip in 1988. His desire to serve cross-culturally was confirmed while working with Operation Mobilization in England and East Asia from 1990 to 1992. After returning to the United States, Kurt completed his M.Div. at Covenant Seminary to prepare for a career of missionary service and was ordained in 2002. His passion remains reaching Persian peoples. Jill studied at Covenant College and then worked for her church for ten years leading and discipling junior high students. Her interest in working cross-culturaly grew through many short-term trips to inner-city St. Louis, Guatemala, and Central Asia. While preparing to return overseas, Jill and Kurt met and found that God was calling them to similar ministries among Muslim peoples. They were married in 2005. Kurt and Jill serve on a church planting team in a strategic European city. Under a national pastor and a sister denomination, Kurt began MTW's work in the city in 1998. They were working with national leaders developing strategies and planting churches to reach Muslim immigrants. The ministry today includes evangelism, discipleship, teaching, and equipping leaders.
