Jon and Sarah Pfeil
Chiba, Japan

Jon came to faith in a Christian home in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating with a degree in chemical engineering, Jon was led to serve with MTW in Japan, for two months, and later returned for two years. Jon spent several years at Cornerstone working in the area before choosing to pursue missions work among college students in Japan. Sarah came to faith in a Christian home in Richmond, Indiana. God developed in her a heart for missions through several trips with her church. She attended nursing school and is a registered nurse. Jon and Sarah were married on August 24, 2002, and continued serving with MTW through an international ministry internship in Atlanta, Georgia. Jon had the opportunity to help lead several international ministries, to become an ordained PCA elder, and to begin systematic biblical studies. Sarah was active in leadership with a young mom's ministry, in leading a discipleship group, and in supporting these international ministries. Jon and Sarah attended Karuizawa Language School where they learned Japanese. They then joined a church planting team in Tokyo/Chiba, with Japan doing college ministry. They have a strong Christian presence in the area and have developed many relationships for sharing the gospel. The Pfeils have three children, Olivia, Annabella, and Calvin.
