Retreats
Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of retreats throughout the year. There are a three main retreats each year: The Devil's Lake Fall Camping trip in September, Winter Snow Camp in January, and the Junior Senior Retreat in August. Other smaller retreats which are sometimes offered include trips to Zoar on the Menominee Indian Reservation or a weekend of cooking and washing dishes at a camp. A few of the retreats are designed only for particular grades. Retreats normally run Friday night through Sunday afternoon and have a sign-up date which is at least two weeks in advance of the retreat. For a better idea of what trips have been taken in the past, be sure to check out the CYM photos link on the main page.
Activities
Not all of the events which students participate in occur in the first three Sundays of the month or on retreats. Students also have the opportunity to engage in other activities. Some of these activities include pizza and movie nights, trips to Chicago, bonfires, pool parties when weather permits, purity and dating discussion nights in the fall and spring, and downhill skiing. In addition, the students occasionally participate in activities with Menomonee Falls OPC, such as tubing or bonfires.
Service
Students are also encouraged to serve within the youth ministry. Many students take advantage of this by using their musical abilities on the praise and worship team. Others participate as small group leaders. The entire group is encouraged to participate in service projects, such as quarterly trips to a nearby nursing home to play bingo or organizing church wide prayer meetings on the fifth Sundays of the month.
